CMBM & Oakleigh State School: Versatile building services for education

CMBM Facility Services has been a trusted partner of Oakleigh State School since we commenced assisting the school in late 2022, working collaboratively to improve the appeal and functionality of the school’s infrastructure.

Our dedicated building and asset maintenance teams have executed the following scope of works for the school, including:

Artificial turf installation

CMBM created a more functional and appealing area for students through the supply and installation of 48 linear metres of 30mm artificial turf in a popular lunchtime location. Installation began by preparing, screeding, compacting the existing ground, then followed by a concrete glue strip being placed around the perimeter to adhere to the turf. The work has created a durable, low-maintenance outdoor space for Oakleigh SS.

Amenities refurbishment

In March and April of 2023, CMBM undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of the senior boys’ amenities, including:

• Demolition & Management
• Carpentry
• Electrical Works
• Plumbing
• Painting
• Flooring

Avoiding additional costs for the school, our building team carefully decommissioned seven urinals, reconfigured the water supply pipework, and then seamlessly reinstalled the urinals in the senior boys’ bathroom area.

Durable epoxy flake floor coating was applied to the area to ensure a long-lasting and visually appealing finish, resistant to abrasion from foot traffic.

CMBM addressed structural concerns by demolishing damaged framing at the entrance and replacing it with new timber framing, accompanied by waterproofing measures to prevent future damage.

LED Panel Lights Installation & Electrical Works

Our licensed team of electricians improved lighting efficiency and reduced energy consumption at Oakleigh State School through the installation of 13 new LED panel lights and various other electrical works projects. Our licensed building team always carry out electrical works in full compliance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the National Construction Code (NCC) Regulations.

Internal Classroom and Hallway Pressure Cleaning

CMBM’s asset maintenance team used internal pressure cleaning techniques to clean all ceilings and fans while applying a specialised mould removal treatment to the school’s high ceilings and internal fittings.
