Challenges
CMBM general programmed cleaning is conducted seven days per week at approximately 850 hours of cleaning per week. The periodical cleaning varies from monthly to three-monthly, six-monthly, and annually. The greatest challenge lies in keeping pace with the ever-evolving scope of work, such as offshore shutdown cleaning, maintenance cleaning, portable crib rooms and amenities added to the scope for short periods of time.
Solution
Frequent and transparent communication with our esteemed clients is our key to success. The ever-changing cleaning requirements of the site are effortlessly managed thanks to the robust relationship we’ve cultivated; additional cleans can be seamlessly integrated into our schedule, even at a moment’s notice.
Our supervisors and team always keep an eye on the property during cleaning, proactively identifying maintenance issues and ensuring they are addressed promptly. This helps keep the site in top condition while allowing the site manager to stay informed about any necessary repairs.
Our professional cleaning team is adeptly trained in chemical handling, manual lifting, and all equipment usage, ensuring proficiency across every facet of the site. We not only identify and uphold the high standards of cleanliness but also maintain flexibility in our scope to align with our client’s ever-changing needs. Daily pre-start meetings and comprehensive staff training keep our team updated on site-wide changes, whether they relate to cleaning tasks, road closures, or significant maintenance activities. Moreover, the CMBM team diligently identifies potential hazards, collaborating closely with DBCT staff to address any concerns that arise.
Result
CMBM Mackay Office receives frequent positive feedback from the client as well as great feedback from the terminal’s CEO. We are always on hand to help with any urgent cleaning concerns, and no task has been too big or too small. As you can imagine, the coal terminal is a very dirty area, but the team works hard and takes pride in their work to maintain the high standard that CMBM has come to be known for.
The CMBM Mackay Cleaning team has participated in DBCT Clean Up Australia Day, collecting rubbish from the nearby beach. We have held successful fundraisers on site, raising much-needed funds for Mackay’s Women’s Shelter, as well as for two CMBM team members who were going through a very hard time.
